The icebreaker ARA Almirante Irizar (Q-5) (RHAI) belonging to the Argentine Navy, was built in 1977 in the Wärtsilä shipyard in Helsinki, Finland. On December 15, 1978, was handed over to Argentina and was the national flag. His godmother was Mrs Celia Maria Villanueva de Fraga. Since then participated every year in the supply of the Argentine Antarctic bases, and other countries and is the flagship of the Naval Forces Antarctica.
